Privacy Policy

The short version

• Everything you type into the invoice, receipt, and quote tools stays in your browser. It is never sent to this site's servers, because there are none processing it.
• The site has no accounts, no sign-up forms, and no mailing list, so it never asks for your name or email.
• Like most free websites, it shows ads (Google AdSense) and measures traffic (Google Analytics). Those Google services use cookies, and you can opt out of personalization — details and links below.

The invoice data you type

This is the part most visitors actually care about, so it comes first. Client names, addresses, amounts, logos, tax rates, notes — all of it is handled by JavaScript running on your own device, and the PDF is assembled there too. No form field on any tool posts data to a server. I (the site's operator) cannot see, store, sell, or lose your invoice data, because it never reaches me.

When you use “Save Draft,” the draft — along with preferences like your chosen currency and template — is written to your browser's localStorage on your device only. Deleting it is entirely in your hands: use the Clear Draft button in the tool or clear site data in your browser settings.

Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)

The site is funded by ads served through Google AdSense. Google and its partner vendors use cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet. In practice this means a third party (Google) sets cookies when ads load here, and those cookies may be used to show you interest-based advertising elsewhere.

You have three practical ways to opt out of personalized advertising:

• Turn off ad personalization in your Google account at Google Ads Settings.
• Opt out of many participating ad networks at once via the Digital Advertising Alliance at aboutads.info/choices.
• Use the Network Advertising Initiative's tool at optout.networkadvertising.org.

You can also block or delete cookies wholesale in your browser settings; the tools on this site keep working with cookies disabled.

Traffic measurement (Google Analytics)

The site uses Google Analyticsto see aggregate patterns: which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from, and which tools get used. This data is viewed only in aggregate and is used to decide things like which guides to write next. It does not include anything you type into the tools. Google's handling of analytics data is described in the Google Privacy Policy, and you can block collection entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

If you email me

The only personal data this site's operator ever holds is what you choose to send to contact@freeinvoicegen.app. Your address and message are used to reply to you and for nothing else — no lists, no sharing, no marketing.

Visitors in the EEA and UK (GDPR)

Under the GDPR you have rights to access, correct, and erase personal data a site holds about you. Because the tools here process everything locally in your browser, this site holds no personal data about your use of them — there is nothing server-side to export or delete. The cookie-based processing that does occur (advertising and analytics, described above) is performed by Google as a third party, and the opt-out links in those sections are the effective controls. Children

This site is a business tool aimed at adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them — there is no mechanism on the site that could, since nothing you type is transmitted.

Outbound links

Guides on this site link to external sources — tax authorities like the IRS and HMRC, and other reference material. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.

When this policy changes

If the site's data practices change — for example, if a new analytics or advertising provider is added — this page will be revised and the date at the top updated. Material changes will not be applied retroactively to data practices described here.
